Mountain Village celebrates safe communities with National Night Out August 6
The Mountain Village Police Department and Village Court Apartments (VCA) are teaming up once again to host the twelfth annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The community is invited to join their neighbors, law enforcement and fire department teams at the Village Court Apartments (415 Mountain Village Blvd.) for a free barbeque (hamburgers and hot dogs) and family-friendly fun including ice cream social, corn hole, bouncy castle and tours of a police car, fire truck and ambulance.
National Night Out, a part of the National Association of Town Watch, involves over 38 million people in 16,000-plus communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity for our neighbors to get to know regional first responders, learn about services available to the community and see the equipment that will respond in an emergency situation,” said Mountain Village Police Chief Chris Broady. “We always look forward to a fun evening and getting to see our neighbors.”
