Mountain Village to host Community Dinner and trainings for businesses
The Town of Mountain Village’s economic development department is offering a handful of upcoming events to support its business community.
In the coming weeks, the Town will host a Lunch and Learn, a Certified Responsible Alcohol Beverage Training Course, a Community Dinner, and ServSafe training. All events are open to owners, employees and managers of Mountain Village businesses.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Town will host its final Lunch and Learn of the year from 12 to 1 p.m. Free lunch will be served.
“Our winter lunch and learn is focused on educating concierges and guest services team members on all the things you need to know about Mountain Village in the winter!” said Business Development Manager Molly Norton. “All front-line workers, managers and anyone interested in learning more going into the winter season are encouraged to join.”
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the Town will host a Certified Responsible Alcohol Beverage Training from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hotel Madeline. The course is free and open to all employees of Mountain Village businesses and limited to the first 50 participants.
The Alcohol Beverage Training course was developed to provide Colorado liquor licensees and other liquor stakeholders the needed training in order to understand Colorado laws and rules in simpler terms. It will provide participants with the needed information to successfully pass the Responsible Vendor Training Program in Colorado for on- and off-premises liquor-licensed establishments.
Please register for the course by December 2.
Later that evening at 5 p.m., those employed by Mountain Village businesses are invited to the Telluride Conference Center for a free Community Dinner designed to thank the front-line team members and managers who are critical in delivering guests a world-class experience.
Spanish interpretation will be available for attendees at the Community Dinner.
“We’re so excited to bring the Community Dinner back again this year after the success of last year’s event. Thank you to Town Council and Town leadership for their support of this event and the importance of taking the time to recognize our front-line workforce and the tremendous service and hard work they provide for our community and guests,” Norton said.
During the event, attendees will hear from guest speakers and will have the opportunity to engage with valuable community organizations and resources.
“All attendees will also be entered into a free raffle for amazing prizes, including hotel stays, spa treatments, restaurant gift cards and more. With all of our events, we aim to inspire and motivate team members to deliver on the world-class experience that makes us a unique and memorable destination,” Norton said. “I also want to thank the Madeline for their partnership on our food and beverage training opportunities. Because of their support, we can continue to provide these free trainings to our employees of Mountain Village businesses.”
The Town will also be organizing a ServSafe Food Handler class and will share a confirmed date and location with the business community soon. As with our other trainings, this class will be free and open to all employees of Mountain Village businesses. The class will be offered in both Spanish and English. Advanced registration will be required and available online soon/by the end of the week.
