Noxious weed control to be performed throughout Mountain Village

Beginning in early July, crews from the Town of Mountain Village, Telluride Ski Resort and San Miguel County will conduct routine summer work to combat the spread of noxious weeds throughout various open space areas in Mountain Village.

Residents should expect to see crews performing noxious weed control on open space parcels owned by either the Town or TSG or along road rights-of-way sporadically throughout the summer months, as weather conditions permit.

Treatment areas will be marked with signs and flagging each time this work is performed, and residents, and their pets, are advised to avoid these areas for the duration that signs and markings are in place.

Noxious weed treatment is crucial in maintaining the ecological balance and biodiversity of local ecosystems, and each summer these three agencies take proactive steps to curb the spread of such plants as Canada thistle, yellow toadflax, musk thistle, hoary cress, burdock, spotted knapweed and more.

For concerns related to noxious weed control on Telluride Ski and Golf’s private property, please reach out to Director of Mountain Operations Scott Pittenger at .
