Town of Mountain Village to host dinner and trainings for business community

The Town of Mountain Village’s economic development department is offering several upcoming events to support its business community.

In the coming weeks, the Town will host a Certified Responsible Alcohol Beverage Training Course, a Community Dinner and two Customer Service and Sales Training classes. All events are open to owners, employees and managers of Mountain Village businesses.

On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, the Town will host a Certified Responsible Alcohol Beverage Training from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Big Billie’s Ballroom at the Peaks. The course is free and open to all employees of Mountain Village businesses and limited to the first 50 participants.

The Alcohol Beverage Training Course was developed to provide Colorado liquor licensees and other liquor stakeholders the needed training in order to understand Colorado laws and rules in simpler terms. It will provide participants with the needed information to successfully pass the Responsible Vendor Training Program in Colorado for on- and off-premises liquor-licensed establishments.

Please register for the course by Friday, December 1.

Later that evening at 5 p.m., those employed by Mountain Village businesses are invited to the Telluride Conference Center for a free Community Dinner designed to thank the front-line team members and managers who are critical in delivering guests with a world-class experience.

Spanish interpretation will be available for attendees at the Community Dinner.

“Please join us for this free dinner as a thank you (in advance) for all of the hard work and tremendous service you are about to provide for our community and our guests,” said Event Organizer and Mountain Village Community Engagement Coordinator Molly Norton.

During the event, attendees will hear from guest speakers and will have the opportunity to engage with valuable community organizations and resources. The event is co-sponsored by the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association and Telluride Ski & Golf Company.

In addition to those two events, a Customer Service and Sales Training will be offered two different times in Mountain Village Town Council Chambers to accommodate work schedules: Tuesday, December 12 at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesday, December 13 at 1 p.m.

“Mountain Village businesses are encouraged to send their front-line team members and managers to this valuable and free training with Anthony Russo,” Norton said. “Russo brings an extensive knowledge of customer service trainings for retailers of all sizes, including Best Buy, Sports Authority and Walmart, and his course is trained to help employees enhance the customer’s shopping experience.”

Drinks and snacks will be provided at each training session. This customer service training is made possible with support from Region 10 and the West Central Colorado Small Business Development Center.

“The Town is investing in our business community and their employees as we are a world-class destination and want to equip our merchants with the ability to deliver a quality experience for their guests and customers,” Norton said. “We’re offering these events with the goal of inspiring and motivating team members and helping them sharpen their skills to ultimately help make our community a unique and memorable destination.”
