Tree removal reminder for the community

Categories:

The Town of Mountain Village would like to remind the community and its property owners that permits are required for the removal of any tree, living or dead. The Mountain Village Community Development Code outlines a $5,000 per tree penalty for removal without a Town-issued permit.

The Town's Community Development Department oversees all tree removal permitting, and our recently hired Town Forester is available for site visits if you are thinking of removing trees from your property. You may email Rodney at or call him at (970) 369-8603.

Our forests are a very important ecosystem while also providing the naturally treed landscape context for development and scenery for residents and guests. The Town is deeply committed to promoting and maintaining forest health, vitality and diversity for generations to come and as a member of our vibrant and distinct community, we thank you in advance for helping to keep our community an exceptional place to both live and visit.
